When there is a bereavement in the family, the last thing close family members want to think about is the substantial form filling, dealing with all the different institutions and finding away to arrange the payment of inheritance tax.
At Emporium we can help take all of the stress and worry out of this unfortunately necessary task, although we are not currently licenced to obtain the Grant of Probate, we can still assist the executors with the whole process, including finding a suitable firm of solicitors to actually apply the Grant of Probate.
The Grant of Probate is the legal term for gaining legal ownership of a deceased person's assets for the executors' named in the will. The executors are then required to deal with the assets in accordance with the deceased's wishes in their will, this stage is called the estate administration stage and can involve tax returns for the executors and accounts.
Usually the executors are family members possibly with a professional executor (like a solicitor or accountant), we are both happy to advise the executors or even become an executor if the family would like an impartial professional managing the assets first hand.
We also have experience regarding Lasting Powers of Attorney, which can be very important for family members in times of difficulty for both medical purposes and financial.
